Help Us Write A Book for Cancer Patients!

We need your story!
Cancer can be a lonely, anxiety-ridden journey. But the Bible says, “where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the middle of them (Matthew 18:20). Our new book, My Peace I Leave With You, is a great way for cancer patients to gather together and inspire each other with hope and healing. We believe God will reside in the middle of this book!
We’re looking for 100 people to help us write this book. Here’s how you can participate. We need you to write a short devotional-story, less than 500 words. Once you write your devotional-story, send it to us. Our professional editors will polish your work and include it in our book, which will be released by the end of May.
The only way to submit your story is by email, to:
info@stopcancerstartpraying.com
Once we receive your story, you will hear from us within 1-2 weeks. Our editors review each story. Most are accepted but occasionally we may ask you to re-write all or portions of your work. We want readers to love each story so it’s important to follow our editor’s instructions.
What is a devotional-story?
-
Make your devotional-story personal and filled with real-life emotion.
-
Try to use vivid images when you write. Make it interesting!
-
Write in the first person. Open by telling the reader a little bit about yourself, and end strong and positive with words of hope and optimism. You want to make the reader feel stronger and more peaceful.
-
Try to speak from the heart. Some cancer patients find it to be a cathartic and productive experience. Be natural when you write; don’t try to force it or use fancy words. Just be you!
